Edo Increases In Gold, Silver At 8th National Youth Games

...Divine Ogbe, Desmond Iroirewaen make podium finish In Cycling, Karate

Team Edo has continued to make an increase in medals harvest and brilliant performances at the ongoing National Youth Games ‘Asaba 2024 as Divine Ogbe, Desmond Eroirewaen began the Day 2 of the competition with Gold medals.

Divine clinched the Gold medal in the Individual Time event in Cycling (female)which held along Ibusa-Asaba Express Road at the early hours of the day just as Master Desmond Eroirewaen bagged his in
Karate, male 47kg to increase the heartbeat state’s Gold medals to five.

Esther Amarachi Chijioke was first to register her name in Gold as she won three Gold medals for Edo State on day one of the competition, making Edo the first to harvest gold in the Asaba Games.

In Cycling,Team Edo also won Silver courtesy of Esther Godwin, leaving the Bronze medal for Plateau State.

Aigbe Precious Esohe(female +47kg) and Master Idugu Wealth (Male +50kg)
won Silver and Bronze medals respectively in Karate.

Adebayo prosper and Ovuema Oghenefijiro efforts were also rewarded with Bronze in mixed doubles Para Table Tennis event, just as Mustapha Quadri and Ivie Edogiawerie also took Bronze In Para Table Tennis.

Precious Tessa and Lucky Ayemi won silver and bronze medals for Edo in a 100m breast stroke(Aquatic Male event) respectively to increase the heartbeat State’s medal haul.

Team Edo will engage team Oyo in football event tomorrow at St. Patrick’s. Kick off time is 4PM. The Edo team which surrendered to Delta 2-1 in their first match will have to redeem themselves against Oyo in the second match.
