IMO: NDDC Inspects Hectares of Land Donated By Umuagwo University of Agric & Environmental Sciences
The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC on Wednesday July 3rd, 2024, inspected 100 hectares of land donated by the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Umuagwo, Imo State.
According to the Director of Agriculture & Fisheries, Mrs. Winifred Madume, represented by Dr. Daniel Ajunwa, also a director in the directorate. The inspection was to ascertain the legality and fertility of the land; intended to be used for the NDDC Project HOPE farming scheme.
Applauding the University Management for the donation and other support, the Imo State Representative on NDDC Board, Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu noted that the Project would guarantee food security in Imo State and the Niger Delta region at large.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Christopher C. Eze while appreciating NDDC for the Project HOPE initiative, pledged the school’s readiness to collaborate, especially in the areas of research and utilization of advanced technologies to actualize the project.
