Heartland, Confluence share NWFL matchday 4 Premiership spoils
Heartland Queens played out a frustrating goalless draw against visitors, Confluence Queens in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 4 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Bookmakers tagged the matchup a grudge match and it turned out to be exact as the watersmeet side thwarted the efforts of the homers to be beaten twice in months.
The Owerri landladies were the better of the two in the 2023 Federation Cup round of 32 clash in Asaba, the first time ever competitive game between the premier leaguers.

The Owerri mainstreams pulled out Faith Samson, Onyinyechi Kalu and Oluchi Okwara in their places came the trio, Oluchi Ofoegbu, Chinwendu Orji and Chinedu Chinaka aimed at breaking the deadlock to no avail.
Few other meaningful moves to unlock the stalemate were well kept by the five-star performer in goal for the Lokoja-based side, Silva Echefu same as her counterparts in the Owerri mainstreams, Uchenna Chukwu to see off the game goalless.
The scoreless draw keeps the Owerri side on the third spot on the log on seven points one behind the challengers, Confluence Queens and leaders, Nasarawa Amazons.
Heartland Queens will embark on a journey to last season’s nemesis, Naija Ratels for the NWFL Premiership matchday 5 clash in Abuja.
