PRESEASON FRIENDLY: NASARAWA UNITED HELD BY HYPEBUZZ FC

...As Coach Usman Adams Expresses Confidence Ahead Of League's Opener Against Zamfara United

Nasarawa United FC Technical Adviser, Usman Adams, has downplayed his side’s 0-0 draw against fellow Nigeria National League counterparts, Hypebuzz FC, in a friendly encounter at the Lafia City Stadium on Friday, stating that Pre-Season is a mirage which does not truly reflect the performance of a team in the main league, but a preparatory school.

The Coach made this known during an exclusive interview with the Club’s Media shortly after the friendly duel with the Abuja-based Hypebuzz FC on Friday evening.

In his words, “Yes, today’s friendly match is one of the toughest my side has faced since I took over as Coach of the team a couple of weeks ago.

“Hypebuzz FC are a very good side. They gave us a run for our money, but most importantly, we enjoyed the game.

“However, in continuation of our preparation for the new league season, we had to play more than twenty-two players in today’s friendly.

“We are still a work-in-progress. If you watched very well, we were experimenting in different departments, especially on taking chances and closing the gaps when we are the defending side.

“We will still go back and look at other areas we need to fine-tune before the league kick-starts.”

On his side’s unbeaten Pre-Season journey, the former Coach of Nigeria Premier Football League’s Club, Sunshine Stars of Akure, disclosed that he and his crew are working on the possibility of winning the NNL title and bounce back to the elite domestic league, expressing the Solid Miners’ readiness for the task ahead.

“You are right, we are yet to lose any match in the off-season period since I took over.

“This is an indication that something better is in the pipeline during the league. It’s my earnest prayer that this fine form translates into the league.

“We hate to lose, even though it’s part of the game, but it’s my endless expectation that we begin the season on a winning note and sustain the tempo, going forward, in the main league”, he concluded.

Pooled in Group C, together with El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri, Yobe Desert Stars FC of Damaturu, Mighty Jets FC of Jos, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, EFCC FC of Abuja, NAF FC of Abuja and ABS FC of Ilorin, Nasarawa United will perform the curtain raiser for the 2023/24 NNL campaign with a home game against visiting Zamfara United(Sai Masu Gari) coached by Alhassan Mohammed, on Saturday, 11th November, 2023, at the refurbished Lafia City Stadium by 4pm.
