A political support group affiliated to the Bayelsa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress and known as ” Bayelsa APC Progressive Movement for Good Leadership and Governance” is calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene on the rising anti-party activities of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Heineken Lokpobiri ahead of the November 11th Gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State.
The group assertion that was contained in a statement jointly signed by its President Dr. Ebipade Godknows and Secretary Hon. Evelyn Dogood accused Senator Heineken Lokpobiri of not supporting the Governorship ambition of the party’s candidate Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva .
The group statement recalled that despite all visible support the Pioneer Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly had received from the National and State structures of the party which guaranteed his appointment as Minister of State for Agriculture barely few months when he joined the party in the build up to the 2015 general election has been disregarded by the Ekeremor born Politician.
The release added the silence of the present Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil) towards the party victory target in Bayelsa polls should be investigated by the National Chairman of the Party , Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje with a view to avoid any internal crises that will limit the party victory in the Governorship elections.
Dr. Ebipade also alleged that Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and Governor Douye Diri are involved in financial dealings which has given some disloyal members of the party the ground to raise dangerous petition against the APC as well as indirectly supporting the opposition party in the State level PDP that worked against the Presidential bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The APC Progressive Movement For Good Leadership and Governance” also described the action of the serving Minister to ignore all his political activities in Bayelsa State including its governorship campaigns as a mission of a senior citizen who is a spectator to the APC during the day hour but a saboteur to the party at night.
