Israeli occupation authorities and the US are planning to create a humanitarian corridor for Gaza residents to use in order to flee to Egypt, Palestinian specialist in Israeli affairs Saleh Naami warned today.

“There is a Zion-American conspiracy against the Palestinian resistance and they want to drag Egypt to take part in it,” Naami said.

According to the Israeli Public Broadcaster Kan, Naami said the US and the Israeli occupation are interested in opening a “humanitarian corridor to allow Palestinians in Gaza to flee.”Naami pointed out that the planned “humanitarian passage” is meant for people, not food, fuel and water, which were banned by Israel.

He said that this would give Israel a wider opportunity for carrying out its “scorched earth” policy without bearing the responsibility for expelling Palestinians from their land.

“The Egyptian leadership should practice its sovereignty over the Rafah Crossing and allow the entry of food, fuel and water to Gaza,” he stressed.

Yesterday a senior Egyptian official warned against pushing defenceless Palestinians towards the Egyptian border and fueling calls by some parties for a mass exodus to escape from Israel’s heavy military bombardment.
