CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Official Draw procedures confirmed
With the third edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League Draw officially taking place on Monday 09 October in Abidjan, CAF has officially confirmed the draw procedures of the competition.
The ceremony will kick off at 16h00 local time (16h00 GMT).
Eight clubs will be engaged in the draw, which will see the clubs drawn into two groups of four.
As tournament hosts, Atletico Abidjan will be seeded in position A1, while defending champions AS FAR of Morocco will occupy B1.
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and AS FAR will be placed in separate groups as the two highest-ranked clubs in the competition.
Also, important to note is that clubs from the same country cannot be in the same group.
There will be three pots present on stage as follows:
- Pot 1: For remaining qualified teams
- Pot 2: For Group A positions
- Pot 3: For Group B positions
CAF Women’s Champions League Qualified Teams:
- Atletico Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) – Hosts
- AS FAR (Morocco) – Defending Champions
- UNAF: Sporting Casablanca (Morocco)
- WAFU A: AS Mande (Mali)
- WAFU B: Ampem Darkoa (Ghana)
- UNIFFAC: Huracanes (Equatorial Guinea)
- COSAFA: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)
- CECAFA: JKT Queens (Tanzania)
The CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023, will take place between 05 and 19 November.
