BAYELSA ELECTION: APC RUNNING MATE WANTS DIRI/SYLVA DEBATE
Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, Joshua Maciver wants the Peoples Democratic Party to dwell on issue-based campaigns, instead of promoting narratives capable of causing disaffection among people of the state.
Speaking at a function in Yenagoa, the Olugbobiri-born Southern Ijaw freedom fighter described the APC Governorship candidate Timipre Sylva as a peaceful man with cognitive experience and administrative competence to turn around the fortunes of the Ijaw homogeneous state.
He also sent an open invitation to Governor Douye Diri to agree to a debate on governance with Timipre Sylva, at least twice before the election on November 11.
Maciver further called on Governor Diri to boldly accept the challenge, as elections are won with persuasive and concrete transformational ideas when the people are afforded the opportunity of hearing directly from politicians who seek to govern them.
