NIGERIAN NAVY SHIP SOROH PRESENTS SCORECARD, RE-STATE ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST OIL THEFT, SEA PIRACY AND OTHER CRIMES

 

 

The Nigerian Navy’s zero tolerance stance to crude oil theft, illegal bunkering, sea piracy and sundry maritime crimes is paying off in the Niger Delta.

At a press briefing in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Soroh, Commodore Olushina Ojebode assured Nigerians that the mandate of the Chief Of Naval Staff will leave no room for tolerance of any breach to critical oil and gas assets in the country.

The Commander alongside other senior officers of the command also displayed two Ak-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, several ammunition, one handset amongst other items recovered at an illegal bunkering site in Southern Ijaw Communities in Bayelsa State.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Navy team also took a short minute boat ride to Famgbe Community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State where they set ablaze one local boat used for oil theft and a fibre boat used for sea piracy.

Addressing Journalists at the end of the operations along the Epie creek, Commodore Olushina Ojebode restate the strategic directive of Chief of Naval Staff, Real Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla to stamp out illegal oil activities and other maritime crimes in the nation’s waterways.
