Britain’s Got Talent returned for its 16th season on Saturday where Ugandan dance group – Ghetto Kids – secured the coveted Golden Buzzer.

Britain’s Got Talent is a televised talent competition in the United Kingdom where individuals or groups showcase their talents in various categories such as singing, dancing, magic, comedy, and more. If an act is awarded the Golden Buzzer at the end of their audition, it grants them a place in one of the live semi-finals of the show, skipping past the boot camp stage of the competition.

Italian judge Bruno Tonioli, hit the Golden Buzzer midway through the Ghetto Kids’ performance.

“I’ve to do it now,” said Tonioli said before hitting the buzzer. “I was literally exploding. You should be proud of yourselves, I can’t wait to see you back.”

The children, who are aged five to 13, performed an energetic routine to a variety of songs which delighted the crowd, that Tonioli, couldn’t wait until the end of their audition, something never done before on the show.

The Ghetto Kids have gained international attention for their dancing skills and have performed for various audiences, including alongside singer Eddy Kenzo and American rapper French Montana. They have also used their platform to raise awareness about poverty and the challenges faced by children living in slums.

They have also performed at numerous events around the world, including the BET Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
