Bendel Insurance extended their unbeaten run to 14 games following a 1-1 draw away to Remo Stars in Ikenne while Enyimba defeated Kwara United at their adopted home ground in Akure as Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 14 games were played  across  Groups A and B respectively.

At Ikenne, Remo Stars were unable to stop Bendel Insurance who got their fifth successive draw since the second stanza started.

Remo Stars were ahead through Franck Kwame in the 16th minute but Insurance equalized through Divine Nwachukwu in the 21 minutes to end the game at 1-1 draw. Insurance are still topping with 28 points from 14 games. Remo dropped to fifth with 20 points.

At the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, Enyimba snatched a crucial 2-1 away win against Kwara United.

Chijioke Mbaoma’s brace for the People’s Elephant was halved by Samad Kadiri’s penalty kick in the 35th  minute. The vital win lifted Enyimba to the second spot with 24 points.

Meanwhile, Akwa United crumbled to the third spot following Plateau United’s 1-0 win scored through Mustapha Ibrahim’s spot kick in the 36th minute. The Peace Boys moved a step up to the fourth position with 21 points.

Shooting Stars (3SC) drew goalless against El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri while Gombe United picked a 1-1 draw in Jos against Nasarawa United.

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa United defied the rain to smash Group B leaders, Lobi Stars 3-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Rangers International had their problem compounded after they let slip a 2-0 lead to settle for a share of the spoils. Reuben Bala and Kenneth Igboke put the Flying Antelopes in the driver’s seat but Munir got a brace to even things out.

Doma United continued to be the revelation of the season despite playing in their debut season in the league after they moved to the second spot with 22 points following their 2-0 home win over Wikki Tourists.

Abia Warriors piped Sunshine Stars 2-1 to return to the third spot with 21 points. Rivers United who are presently fourth with 20 points will replace Abia Warriors in the third spot if they eventually beat Dakkada today when the game continues.

The league’s reigning champions are ahead by 1-0 through Albert Korvah’s strike before the game was stopped by the match officials due to poor visibility.
