LIVERPOOL EYE SALAH REPLACEMENT
LIVERPOOL EYE SALAH REPLACEMENT
Tuesday Jan 24, 2023.
Just months after signing a bumper new contract at Liverpool, reports suggest that Mohamed Salah could well be on the list of outgoings at the club, as the Reds line up a potential replacement.
The Egyptian signed a lucrative contract extension at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign, which saw him becoming the highest-paid Liverpool player in their history.
However, the African star has struggled to emulate the form he showed prior to signing the new deal. In 19 Premier League appearances, Salah scored seven goals while recording four assists during this time.
According to Calcio Marcato, as per the Express, Klopp is said to be unconvinced by Salah’s showings this season and ‘would consider’ the possibility of selling the former Chelsea winger.
The same report mentions that Liverpool could sell Salah for ’no less’ than £70 million with Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in the popular attacker.
It’s said that Liverpool have identified Federico Chiesa as Salah’s replacement, with Juventus quoting the player at a fee of £53 million.
