Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, in a statement, said the Council is chaired by Prof. T.O.K Audu.

Other members of council include Dr. Asue Ighodalo, Bishop G.E Dunia, Dr. Ifueko Omogui, Prof. Bob Osaze, Prof. Felix Okieimen and Prof. Ahmed Uwubamwen.

The statement reads in part: “Governor Obaseki, in line with Edo University Uzairue Law (2014) and Edo University Uzairue Amendment Law (2016), has approved the constitution of the Governing Council of the university. This is in furtherance of the government’s efforts at repositioning all tertiary institutions in the state with a view to transforming them into world-class institutions of higher learning.
