With the LGBTQ community growing across the world, there is arguably any occupation in life that doesn’t have a member of the LGBTQ amongst them.
About twenty footballers have come out openly as gays but only nine are well-known. Justin Fashanu is the first ever footballer to come out as gay thirty years ago.
9. Andy Brennan
29-year-old Australian, Andy Brennan played for the Australian top-flight division A-League in 2017, for New Castle Jets.
He currently plays in the Australian semi-professional league for Hume City. He openly came out as gay in 2019, in an interview with Herald Sun.
He is the first Australian player to come out as gay.

27-year-old Collin Martin MLS player who plays for the new club, San Diego Loyal.
Just before his former team, Minnesota United hosted FC Dallas in a “Pride Match” in support of the LGBTQ community, Martin announced his sexuality on his social media pages.

Thomas played in the 2006 World Cup and 2008 Europe, totaling his appearance for the team to 52.

David Testo is a retired professional football player. Testo played for Richmond Kickers, Colombus Crew, Vancouver Whitecaps, and Montreal Impact.
Testo revealed he was gay in November 2011, in an interview with Canadian broadcaster Radio Canada.
