Udom Emmanuel to deliver keynote speech at House of Commons

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, who doubles as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council Chairman, will on Wednesday, deliver the keynote address at the opening of the Seventh yearly London Political Summit and Awards to be held at the House of Parliament in Westminster.

Summit coordinator, Godson Azu, confirmed Udom’s attendance to The Guardian.

It is unclear if Emmanuel will use the opportunity to give any hint about his party’s strategies for next year’s general elections, especially the seemingly three-horse presidential race between PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, All Progressives Party’s Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

The theme of the summit is “Trade for Peace; The Politics of Democratic Peace Through Fair Trade.”

In a separate press release, the organisers said: “The summit would honour key political and community champions from Africa and the United Kingdom (UK) for their outstanding contributions to political and economic development, good governance, democratic peace, as well as media networks, for their efforts.”

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Peterborough, Paul Bristow, will be the parliamentary host. The three-day event will be rounded off on Friday.
