Nigeria vs Algeria: Simon Moses reveals who to blame for Super Eagles’ 2-1 defeat
Super Eagles winger, Simon Moses has blamed poor officiating for their 2-1 defeat to Algeria in an international friendly match played on Tuesday.
Terem Moffi opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 9th minute, before Riyad Mahrez equalized from the penalty spot five minutes before the break.
The Desert Foxes grabbed the winner through Youcef Atal in the second half.
It is Jose Peseiro’s first defeat to an African nation since taking over the Eagles earlier in the year.
Speaking after the game, Simon said: “Actually the game did not go the way we planned it. But it’s part of the job because we learn every day. And I believe we will pick a lot from it.
“We all know that the referee did not give us justice. But then the coach said we should forget about it and keep fighting. We just need to encourage and motivate ourselves because we play for pride, we play for our family and the Nigerian fans. I believe we did our best but it did not go as planned.”
