Kim Kardashian sex tape profits revealed
Fifteen years have passed since Kim Kardashian‘s sex tape with rapper Ray J came to light. The famous rapper accused Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner for leaking the sex tape, but it has never been proven.
What is known is that the tape was the turning point in the life of the influencer, who shot to stardom after the images came to light. It wasn’t just her who benefitted from it, but also her entire family, who have become famous worldwide.
Ray J claims that there are more videos that have not yet been made public. We don’t know if they will be leaked one day, but TMZ has discovered documents breaking down the profit that the tape has generated.
Kim Kardashian’s sex tape made almost $1.5 million dollars
TMZ has accessed an email sent by Steve Hirsch, CEO of Vivid Entertainment, which was the production company that distributed the video.
In the message, it is indicated that the film had generated exactly 1,424,636.63 dollars. Kardashian made $1,255,578.50 from DVD sales, $126,908.13 from internet sales, $15,000 from licensing sales; and 27,000 euros from the international market.
The most curious thing is the date on which the mail was sent, as the video was leaked on March 14 2007 and the message with the figures was written on April 23. Four days later, Kardashian reached an agreement with the production company and settled out of court.
Ray J confessed that both he and Kim will receive $400,000 plus 12.5 percent of the profits. Hirsch’s email confirms these figures as reported by the rapper. What the CEO of the production company denies is that Kris Jenner was involved.
