FP Universal Visual In Partnership With Prudent Pens organizes ‘Stop The rape’ programme in Gokana L.G.A, Rivers State.
Dr. Onotume Okemena Esther, a Paediatrician with a special interest in community Paediatrics and social development says all hands should be on deck to reduce the increase rape in Nigeria.
Dr. Esther stated this during ‘Stop The Rape’ a programme put together by FP Universal Visual in partnership with Prudent Pens @ Deeyor community, Gokana L.G.A, Rivers State.
Speaking to teenage girls, the medical practitioner said “Rape is an act of violence against its victims” Rape is a crime and it shunned, students were also charged to “SAY NO TO VICTIM Blaming” and support each other as females.
She said victims of rape should always go to the hospital first.
At the programme, a health practitioner, Mr Justice Yabel urged the teenage girls to take their studies seriously to become great in future.
Other invited guests also turn took to speak at the programme.
The participants were given free sanitary pads. Most of them said they were grateful to the organizer for bringing such a programme to their doorstep.
The initiator of the programme, Feefeelo Peter said he was excited that the idea he birthed in the month of August came to reality.
“Stop The Rape” proramme was sponsored by Mrs. Befii Tornwe-Atiemwen. And Society For Women And Youths Affairs ( SWAYA).
