Leaders from across the divide congratulate President-elect Ruto

Leaders from across the divide have Monday congratulated President-elect William Ruto.

In congratulatory messages on social media, Kenyans exuded confidence in Ruto’s leadership as they lauded the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Rachel Ruto in her message quoted a bible verse in 1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Congratulations Bill. Kenya has spoken!” she said amid excitement.

Notably, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Najib Balala is the first leader of the opposition to congratulate the president-elect. In his message, he said,” Congratulations on your victory Dr William Ruto, President-Elect, Republic of Kenya. It is by God’s grace and the valid will of the people, you were elected President. You have the ability to transform this country for the betterment of all.”

He further wished him the best as he prepared to assume the responsibilities of such a high office.

“Hongera! God be with you, God Bless Kenya.”

Other leaders who chimed in include his Kenya Kwanza counterparts Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

In his message, Mudavadi said, “we have done it! Congratulations to the President-Elect His Excellency William Ruto. Team Kenya Kwanza! Freedom has come! God Bless Kenya!”

Wetangula on his part said, “the did is done!! William S Ruto is the 5th. Kenya has a new progressive, dynamic, reliable and dependable President. Congratulations my brother Ruto for this deserved recognition, appreciation and just reward.”

Other leaders’ messages are as follows:

H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo Former President of Federal Republic of Somalia, “I wish to offer my most sincere congratulations to President-Elect of Kenya H.E. William Ruto & the people of Kenyan following the successful conclusion of the elections.”

 

Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, “My congratulations William Ruto on your election as the President of the Republic of Kenya. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours ahead.”

 

Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, I would like to congratulate H.E. @WilliamsRuto on his election as the 5th president of the Republic of Kenya. The historic conclusion of this process is a testament to your leadership. The bonds between our people are strong. I look forward to working with you on many fronts.”
President of the Southwest State of Somalia, H.E. Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, “on behalf of the people of SWS of Somalia, I want to extend my congratulations to His Excellency Dr William Ruto as the elected 5th President of Kenya. Kenya is a neighbour and an important partner for Somalia. We pray for peace and prosperity for our brothers & sisters in Kenya.

Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda and Bukedea District Woman MP Anita Annet Among, “I Congratulate H.E Dr @WilliamsRuto upon election as the 5th President of Kenya. I also congratulate the people of Kenya for successfully exercising their constitutional right to elect Leaders. As Members of the East African Community, we look forward to working with you.”

 

President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, “Congratulations to @WilliamsRuto on his election as the next President of Kenya. I have no doubt he will serve his country, his people and our continent with distinction.”

The President of The Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
