The world champion Springboks remained third in the latest World Rugby rankings despite their 30-14 victory over Wales in their Test series clinching clash at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Ireland have taken over top spot thanks to their sensational – and historic – series win over the All Blacks.
France hosts of next year’s Rugby World Cup are in second place, following by the Springboks.
New Zealand have slipped to fourth, while England find themselves in fifth after their 21-17 win in the third and final Test against the Wallabies.
Australia are in sixth spot, while Scotland, Wales, Argentina and Japan round out the top 10.
