The discerning president of Association of Coastal and Waterways Communities of Nigeria, (ACWCN), Comrade Bawo Ighomi has taken a serious look at the ravaging cases of social vices in Niger/Delta areas in Nigeria, submitting strongly that idealness of the unemployed youths is responsible for this disturbing activities.
The vibrant ACWCN boss made his findings public in a media statement he issued and signed recently
“I had taken a deep and reflective look at the dangerous root cause of piracy, kidnapping and oil thief ’s activities, only to discover that lack of employment generating activities of the youths is solely responsible for these disturbing social vices. We as Coastal Waterways Communities who are hosts to these ports are ready to set up a security network to partner with government security services, so as to protect these vessels personnel coming into the ports in Niger Delta,” he submitted.
Comrade Ighomi wondered why the establishment of cottage industry fishing zones which is an important area of solving Niger Delta youths unemployment challenges is not functioning well as it is supposed to, calling on the government to address that area as fast as possible.
