EFCC Operatives Lay Siege To Okorocha’s House In Abuja
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, stormed the Abuja home of a former Imo State governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha.
According to the former governor’s aide, the operatives, who allegedly stormed the house in Maitama district of Abuja without arrest warrant, insisted on forcefully taking the Imo West Senator away.
Though details of the operatives’ visit was not clear, Okorocha’s aide, who didn’t want his name to be mentioned, said the EFCC operation was targeted at stopping the former governor from attending the screening of APC presidential aspirants..
This is not the first time the EFCC will invade the residence of Okorocha, who is currently seeking to contest the presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the EFCC, the former Imo governor allegedly conspired with others, including a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and five companies, to steal N2.9 billion public funds.
The charge against Okorocha came hours after he formally declared his intention to run for president.
THEWILL recalls that this is coming barely 48 hours after Okorocha hosted other APC presidential aspirants from the South-East, where they forged alliance ahead of the presidential primaries.
