Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani praises recent developments in Qatari-Egyptian ties
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Qatar’s emir, on Monday received the credentials for the Egyptian ambassador to Doha, according to an Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministry said Ambassador Amr El-Sherbini, during the credentials ceremony, delivered the regards of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Tamim.
The statement added that Tamim praised recent developments in bilateral relations.
On Aug. 28, Tamin met al-Sisi in Iraq’s capital Baghdad on the sidelines of an international summit.
In June, Egypt and Qatar announced the appointment of extraordinary ambassadors to both countries, as part of the resumption of relations between them following the Al-Ula Summit and the Gulf reconciliation agreement, both from this January.
