Nigeria Line Up Friendlies Against Ivory Coast And Tunisia In Austria Next Month

According to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, Nigeria have lined up two high profile friendlies against Ivory Coast and Tunisia next month as part of the Super Eagles preparations for the resumption of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Pinnick announced that the two friendlies will hold in Austria, with the game against the Elephants coming up on October 9 while four days later the national team will face the Aigles de Carthage.
The football administrator revealed that Austria was picked as an ideal venue to host the two friendlies due to the COVID-19 protocols presently in place and the proximity of the bulk of the Super Eagles team as well.
The costs of arranging the friendlies will be borne by the Football Federations of Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Tunisia.
Three-time African champions Nigeria have been inactive since November 17, 2019 when they beat Lesotho 4-2 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.
In their last outing against Tunisia, the Super Eagles beat the North Africans 1-0 to win bronze at the 2019 AFCON, and they lost by a lone goal in their last meeting against Ivory Coast in January 2015.
