Villa told to be ‘ruthless’ in transfer market
Aston Villa fans have been reacting to Wednesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.
Villa stormed into the lead after 20 seconds when John McGinn turned home from Ollie Watkins’ cross.
Tyrone Mings had turned City defender John Stones with a fine pass from a free-kick and Watkins found McGinn, who finished coolly.
However City quickly turned the game on its head, Phil Foden and Rodri putting Pep Guardiola’s side ahead five minutes before half-time.
Tammy Abraham update emerges
Thomas Tuchel says Tammy Abraham is ‘worried’ and ‘angry’ about his Chelsea situation as speculation over the striker’s future continues to mount ahead of the summer transfer window.
Abraham is reportedly considering his future at Stamford Bridge having fallen down the pecking order after Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager in January.
Villa have been linked with a move for Abraham when the window reopens with the 23-year-old still having admirers at the club following his excellent loan spell in the 2018/19 season.
Villa are expected to target attacking reinforcements for Dean Smith ‘s squad in the summer and Abraham remains a popular player with supporters.

Man United and Everton fixtures changed
Villa’s game against Manchester United at Villa Park next month will now kick off on May 9 at 2.05pm.
The game was originally due to kick off at 3pm the day before, but because all matches on the 34th and 35th match days of the 2020-21 season are being made available for live broadcast the fixture has been moved.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, matches are still being played behind closed doors with the Premier League’s broadcast partners screening games.
